There are Las Vegas casinos for every pocketbook and although the Las Vegas scene has changed in some respects since it's early days, the gambling remains the same! Blackjack, craps, slots, keno, sports books, all legal and fun. Some of the best gambling advice: most people say I'm going to play until I lose $100 or $200 or whatever, just change that thought to "I'm going to play until I'm up $100 or $200". Duh! it's a machine and it's random generator doesn't know that someone has just hit a jackpot. So go for it. I did and won big!  

If you've never been to Las Vegas or a casino before you might want to watch some of the games you're interested in playing, also find out the minimum bet that you can make at any one table! There's usually a tent card on the table that will show the minimum bet at that table. Thursday through Sunday the bets go up, just like the room rates! While we're talking about bets, chips are your money here. The $1 chips can be any color, but most casinos use the following color codes - $5 Red, $25 Green, $100 Black, $500 Purple and $1000 Yellow! If you're uncertain about it all, you can always take a lesson. Such a simple thing as where you can put your cards or chips on the table, as well as where you can touch! Also you can never put money directly into the dealer's hand, it's always on the table. Other players can be pretty touchy about this stuff - so if you're a beginner do yourself a favor and take a lesson. Many of the hotel casinos also have classes! You can learn about blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, (shades of James Bond and the high rollers!) Texas Hold 'Em Poker, (my personal favorite) and other more standard poker games like stud, 3 card draw. The Stardust has classes all day long, so you can go anytime between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm and learn some little something that might be helpful.
